How long have you been working for Tiny Tails To You?
I was hired in October of '16. During my two years as an experience leader at our petting zoos, I also discovered a love for something very special: kids.
As the new facilities manager for the company, my goal is to continue to improve the lives of our animals as well as create new opportunities for kids to learn about and connect with animals. To help shape more environmentally-consciousness generations through exposure and education I feel would be an incredible contribution to the world. Thanks, Tiny Tails, for giving me the opportunity to combine two of my passions.
Who is your favorite Tiny Tails animal, and why?
I'm pretty obsessed with Ms. Frizzle... for obvious reasons. I'm also a huge fan of Henny-- she's such a great chicken!
Favorite non-Tiny Tails animal?
Otters? Maybe? There's so many cool animals!
Do you have a favorite memory from a zoo?
I remember a birthday party I worked for two 10 year old twins and their baby sister (Pepper) was *over the moon* about the hedgehogs. She hung out in the zoo for the entire two hours loving Bigley. Sidenote: her lap was so tiny and I made the mistake of holding her feet up for a few minutes so Bigley could walk around. She spent the majority of her time holding her legs in the air for me to continue to hold them LOL. I ended up having to sacrifice a stool for her feet. Too cute. I also love the moment a kid holds an animal he/she is scared of. I don't get quite as big a kick from an adult holding an animal they fear.
What is your favorite thing about working for Tiny Tails to You?
Being able to get kids excited about animals. FO SHO. We need animal-loving future generations!!!
Where are you from? How long have you lived in Austin?
I grew up in The Woodlands TX and went to school in San Marcos. After I graduated in 2016, I moved here for my job as a dog trainer. I actually live in Pflugerville ^^.
Where is your favorite place in Austin, and why?
I enjoy the Barton Springs/Zilker area in the summer. Music venues on the West side. El Mercado on 1st is the bomb. Always taking suggestions.
Where did you go to college?
I graduated with a degree in Wildlife Biology from Texas State.
