Keeping Your Tiny Tails Event Safe during COVID-19
As the State of Texas has eased its restrictions on small gatherings, Tiny Tails to You has re-opened our in-person petting zoos with some new precautionary measures in place to ensure the safety and health of all our guests, staff, and animals. We have been consulting with and receiving guidance from national and local health officials on how to best service events responsibly and safely. After careful consideration, we have decided to implement measures that go above and beyond government recommendations so that we can be confident in our chosen approach.
We will continue to closely monitor COVID-19 developments and adhere to the recommendation and requirements established by the CDC, Texas Department of State Health Services, Travis County and the City of Austin. Once we have determined that it is safe to open to larger and less restricted events, we will publish another blog post. Email us if you'd like to receive updates about our in-person events.
At your event, you’ll find the same adorable animals and wonderful staff as you have come to expect, but things may look a little different. We have put the following protocols in place, which are outlined in detail below:
Currently, we will only be attending parties with 10 or fewer guests, not including Tiny Tails staff.
Face coverings are required all guests over the age of 2, including our staff, no exceptions.
Guests will be required to sanitize hands before and after handling the animals.
Tiny Tails staff and supplies
Immediately before traveling to your event, each staff member will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms and have their temperature checked.
Each animal will attend only one event per day.
Supplies will be thoroughly sanitized following each event.
Our staff will set up the petting zoo area, demonstrate how to pick up animals, give the rules, and then give advice and facts from 6 feet away while parents help their children handle the animals.
All events will be outdoors and subject to our terms of service. Please note that we can’t set up outside in over 100-degree temperatures so we recommend scheduling your event in the morning hours, with fans or misters when available.
These events will include 2 rabbits, 1 hedgehog, 1 tortoise, 1 miniature chicken, 1 guinea pig, and a bearded dragon.
