Keeping Your Tiny Tails Event Safe during COVID-19
As the State of Texas has eased its restrictions on small gatherings, Tiny Tails to You has re-opened our in-person petting zoos with some new precautionary measures in place to ensure the safety and health of all our guests, staff, and animals. We have been consulting with and receiving guidance from national and local health officials on how to best service events responsibly and safely. After careful consideration, we have decided to implement measures that go above and beyond government recommendations so that we can be confident in our chosen approach. We are so excited to share our animals with you!
We will continue to closely monitor COVID-19 developments and adhere to the recommendation and requirements established by the CDC, Texas Department of State Health Services, Travis County and the City of Austin. Once we have determined that it is safe to open to larger and less restricted events, we will publish another blog post. Email us if you'd like to receive updates about our in-person events.
At your event, you’ll find the same adorable animals and wonderful staff as you have come to expect, but things may look a little different. We have put the following protocols in place, which are outlined in detail below:
Guests
Only 10 or fewer guests at a time within 6 feet of the petting zoo.
Face coverings are required all guests over the age of 2, including our staff, no exceptions.
Guests will be required to sanitize hands before and after handling the animals.
Tiny Tails to You
Immediately before traveling to your event, each staff member will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms and will check their temperature.
Our staff will wear a face mask and shield while helping guests handle the animals.
Tiny Tails animal handling mats will be thoroughly sanitized following each event.
Event Logistics
All events will be outdoors and subject to our terms of service. Please note that we can’t set up outside in over 100-degree or under 40-degree temperatures.
These events will include 2 rabbits, 1 hedgehog, 1 tortoise, 1 miniature chicken, 1 guinea pig, and a bearded dragon.
"Tiny Tails recently restarted on-site visits for small gatherings, and we decided to take advantage of it for our daughter's 10th birthday. The team set up outside, instructed the kids and us how to self-service animal swapping to minimize contact, and provided fun facts about the animals throughout our hour. Masks were worn by all and hand sanitizer readily available. This was a much needed respite during our quarantine, especially for the kids. Cannot thank and recommend enough!" - A.S in Cedar Park, Texas
