4 Easy to Plan Party Games For Your Child's Virtual Birthday

Need some ideas for entertaining games for your child's virtual party? Butters the Guinea Pig has some ideas to get your started!

I just love parties! I can't imagine anything better than having a good time with all of my friends, eating treats (mmm... carrots!), and playing games. Besides a virtual animal hangout, you may be wondering "What will we do for fun at my kid's virtual birthday party during this period of quarantine and social distancing?" Well, I have some really fun and easy ideas to suggest!

1. Charades

The great thing about Charades is that you don’t need any supplies to play, just some friends and ideas for things to act out!! Start by writing scenario ideas on cards and having a player select one (personally, I love pretending to be other animals).

Then they’ll act it out without using any words and the first person to guess correctly wins that round! That person then gets to draw another card! Easy peasy!

2. Pictionary

Pictionary is a classic, easy party game that is also a good choice to play online because you need very few things! You'll only need a piece of paper, or you could use the Zoom Whiteboard Feature. To play, the first player picks something to draw while the others guess, a lot like charades but with drawing! If you need some practice before the party, you can check out our How to Draw animals activities!

3. Trivia

Kids love to play trivia games, so they can show their knowledge! There are many great trivia apps out there on the Internet. Looking for an animal-themed trivia game? Check out this quiz from National Geographic Kids! Or if you want to do some Tiny Tails Themed Trivia, we have some educational worksheets for kids on our activities page! You can just use the answers sheets as your guide for your questions!

4. Seek-And-Find at Home

My last suggestion is a good old fashioned scavenger hunt. This is a fun way to let kids with the wiggles get up and run around during the party. Pick one person to call out an item that they would like everyone to go find. For example, I might squeak out "Find something orange!" Then the first person to come back with something orange wins the round. Then they get to call out something for everyone to go search for.

Whatever game you choose, I hope you have lots of fun playing with your friends! I can't wait to see you at your virtual birthday party!
