Requirements

  • Own a reliable vehicle with air conditioning to transport small animals and equipment safely to and from events (sedans work well).
  • Experience with children preferred
  • Display patience, enthusiasm, compassion, and respect for animals
  • Able to present animal facts and information in an entertaining way
  • Willing to have a background check performed
  • Car insurance and a clean driving record

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport animals to and from events, set-up and clean-up at events
  • Maintain a well-structured event by establishing and and enforcing rules for behavior and procedures
  • Monitor safety and well being of all animals and participants
  • Interact with customers of all ages in a way that fosters empathy, curiosity, and confidence
  • Share your knowledge about our animals and related topics to participants
  • Provide “epic customer service.” Being outgoing, humorous, friendly and a strong age-appropriate communicator are top priorities
  • Read children's books and lead groups of children in singing a song
  • Additional duties as needed

Hours

We are looking for part-time weekend and weekday staff, or you can do both!

We are flexible around your schedule with varying hours.

  • Weekends: 1-3 shifts (typically 3-9 hours) per day on the weekends.
  • Weekdays: We release the shift schedule 2 weeks in advance so you can sign up for shifts that work for you on weekdays.

Compensation

Starting pay is $15.00 per hour plus a $5-$8 gas reimbursement for every event you drive animals or supplies to. Staff average between $16.00 to $21.00 per hour with tips. You receive 100% of your tips.
