Animal Caretaker

Overview

An animal caretaker will execute high quality care for all the Tiny Tails to You animals which include rabbits, hedgehogs, guinea pigs, bearded dragons, blue-tongue skinks, chickens, chicks, tortoises, chinchillas, and a leopard gecko. Caretakers will carry out their responsibilities (listed below) with timeliness, compassion, and with the utmost respect for our animals.

Requirements

Be 18 years or older to apply
Have an iPhone or Android smartphone
Have a 4-door sedan or larger vehicle with working air conditioner to transport animals, supplies, and/or equipment as needed
Have car insurance and a clean driving record
Be willing to have a background check performed
Be dependable, responsible and always on time or early
Be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs
Be comfortable working outdoors in variable weather conditions
Possess a high level of integrity and a great interest in the well-being of animals

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working outdoors
Work well with a team as well as independently
Veterinary experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Feed and water animals
Clean animal habitats, supplies, and property
Carry out daily animal enrichment and social activities
Bathe animals and trim animal nails
Administer basic medication
Maintain property grounds
Maintain supply levels: perform inventory counts and supply runs
Manage pest control program
Transport animals for veterinary care
Additional duties as needed

Hours

Either: 20 Hours per week (5 days per week): Monday - Friday
Or: 12 Hours per week (3 days per week): Saturday - Monday
8 AM - 12 PM

Compensation

$13.00 /hour
