HOW WE RUN BIRTHDAY PARTIES

We love making each child’s birthday a day they’ll never forget. We start each program with our “birthday child introduction” where the birthday child gets to open the baskets of animals and “unveil” them to their guests! (One and two year-olds can be aided by an adult).

The birthday child gets to stay in the pen for the entire zoo if they’d like while we rotate their friends through. They get to sit on little stools (which we bring) and we give them mats to put in their laps, and then we hand them animals to hold throughout the zoo.

Our zoo is very unique in that the kids get a lot of one-on-one time with our animals, and the zoo is very organized. We also give educational information about our little friends throughout the zoo.

Please note: the three weekends of, before, and after Halloween and Easter are our busiest.
We will have a 1.5 hour minimum for zoos those weekends.

**Sales tax and a $1.50/mile, one-way travel fee apply to all zoos.
Travel fee is calculated from our location near 51st and I-35 in Austin.

What makes us different

Festival Zoos

We do festivals with 50 to 5,000 people or more! We are available for picnics, school fundraisers, holiday festivals, store opening events, church socials, and more.

Our traveling petting zoo has small and miniature animals only. We bring little stools for children (and adults!) to sit on, we hand them mats to put in their laps, and then we hand them different little animals to hold throughout the zoo. This is a very unique experience as everyone gets a lot of one-on-one time with the animals, and the zoo is very well organized. We also fill our zoos with educational animal facts!

Please note: the two weekends of, before, and after Halloween and Easter are our busiest. We will have a 1.5 hour minimum for zoos those weekends.

ABOUT ANIMAL-ASSISTED THERAPY

The goal of this therapy is to improve a patient’s social, emotional, or cognitive functioning. Animals can also be useful for educational and motivational effectiveness for participants.

The therapeutic use of pets as companions has gained increasing attention in recent years for a wide variety of patients.. Unlike people, with whom our interactions are often very complex and unpredictable, animals provide a constant source of comfort and focus for attention. Animals bring out our nurturing instinct and make us feel safe and unconditionally accepted. We can just be ourselves around them.

HOW OUR PET THERAPY PROGRAMS WORK

It depends on the needs of the group. For our programs for adults, we allow everyone to sit in your facility’s comfortable chairs and we give mats for 6-10 people at a time (depending on the needs of the clients and number of available helpers), and then we hand them animals to hold in their laps. Our therapy animals include bunnies, chinchillas, guinea pigs, hedgehogs, bearded dragons, miniature chickens, tortoises, and geckos. We’re sure to talk with everyone about how to pet and hold the animals as well as give animal facts and interesting information about them.

These programs can accommodate up to 30 adults at a time or 12-15 children, and can be broken down into 15-30 minute groups. Call for details!

Animal Adaptations

All about adaptations! Learn about the adaptations of our animals, including a hedgehog's quills, a bearded dragon's third eye, a chinchilla's fur (the softest in the world!) and more! *Add our "Old MacDonald" or storytime introductions (described below!)

Add-Ons

Old MacDonald Introduction

Our most popular introduction. Together, we all sing Old MacDonald Had a Farm! As each chorus is sung to the group, a new animal is brought out and the children identify the animal to continue the song.

Story Time Introduction

We will read 1 story that have some animals as characters. Our stories are interactive, with a "slow walk" like a tortoise and hopping like a bunny.
